hi,

people now i need ur opinions urgently on this matter before it gets too serious ....

now-a-days everytime i play Quake III on my computer.. it hangs in between .. sometimes it get restarted & sometimes if I'm lucky enough then i get it closed through task manager ...... & even after closing this quake3.exe file from the task manager ........... its resolution & color scheme get applied on my screen & i hate those settings & to reset my screen i've to run Quake again & then just exit out of it!! ....

Well, one more i was using avi2dvd at tht point also it restarted on its own ... & then after a simple error screen comes says the system has recovered from a serious error!!

Today i got a new BLUE screen as an error ...... saying sth like PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA .... i dunt know if tht is the very popular BSoD .... bcz i've never used 98 & this problem is supposed to apear only in win 98 or 98se ......

& yeah! sometimes it also happens like ..... my screen just goes black with everything else working in my computer .. my devices etc. but screeen goes black & i've to restart it again .... :cry:

& as far as i've figured out the problem .... I think my it is happening bcz of my SMPS ... wat do U guys think abt it!

Unstable system. There could be many reasons for this.

1- Check your ram using memtest86
2- Make sure your SMPS meets the PC's power requirements. Visit this page
3- Run a virus scan using your fav. anti-virus. Here is an online one.
4- Check for spyware using SpyBot S&D.
5- Make sure you are running a firewall. Zonealarm is recommended.

no! people this is no virus or spywares .... I've my anti-virus updated .... & scanned it many times ... I've checked my log .. nothing like spywares over there!! ....

I believe this is some .....H/W problem ... & for this thing to confirm abt the viruses .. i installed my XP integrated SP2 once again ....... & still the problem persists .... :cry:

The Stop 0x50 message indicates that requested data was not in memory. The system generates an exception error when using a reference to an invalid system memory address. Defective memory (including main memory, L2 RAM cache, video RAM) or incompatible software (including remote control and antivirus software) might cause Stop 0x50 messages.

You reinstalled Win XP, right? There is a high probability that the SMPS or memory is at fault. Check them (refer to my first post). If possible, get hold of an XP non-slipstreamed version and install from there (which doesn't have SP2 integrated). You can install SP2 later, after installing XP. Some users have experienced instability due to the slipstreamed version.
