@fury
thanx for your advice friend:).
nyway do u guyz believe it,my procy temperature went up to 85 C oc to 2.42 Ghz:(.
i referred to stress checking using Othos as well as TAT.The result was at 100% load and within 1 hr:(.
it seems that next thing one needs to upgrade with pc is AC:(:(.
No problem dude...
And man your proccy is hot...as darklord said, whats the VCore?

its about 1.32 volt,cpu z showed proccy voltage as 1.17 volt.why s this difference,can u plz tell me?

and by the way,ambient temp. was about 36 C .i guess its not my proccy's fault tht it went crazy.

You still on Stock cooler right ? Well its well known that initial C2D CPUs didnt have perfectly flat IHS hence due to the spoon like IHS, proper contact with IHS wasnt possible, resulting in insanely high temps.

Was that the reason why you lapped?

so wht shud i do now?
buy an Air Conditioner or a decent CPU cooler?

Buying a good cooler seems to be a better choice for long run even if you don't overclock. But as darklord said if the IHS is not flat then lapping is the best option or use some thick thermal paste like Arctic Cooling MX-1 to bridge the gap.

Precisely yes :)
Although newer CPUs have much better IHS. My E6600 is much much better and so is my other E4300 :)

I suggest get some local thermal paste, the white ones, put oodles of it and just hope the gap is filled.By oodles, i dont mean you pour it :D

Totally agree there,no point wasting money, buying new coolers and experimenting.If IHS is not flat, a good cooler wont help.
