Hi, I've Philips DVP 3120 DVD player. I want to watch the movies which come with Digit. So I'm wondering how can I make them play. The philips support site does not specify the extensions supported by the DVD player.
Will the AVI files play?
How do I convert MP4 files to play in DVD player?

And how do I check whether it's DivX compatible?

PS - AVI doesn't work. I converter to AVI suing K-Lite and then burned it as a data CD (because AVI was not an option in Video CD). The player refused to play it. :(((

I still got to check out SUPER. Let's see what happens!

@nisargshah95: u have this model

DVP3120/05 Philips DVD player DVP3120 - Philips Support

sorry but its not a DivX player & supports MPEG1 & MPEG2 compression in video.
generally the DivX logo is printed on the DVD player dat supports.
also it doesnt have USB.

so the only files it supports is .mpg & .vob

I'm converting a 734MB file using SUPER from AVI to MPG. But the coversion is still going on and the file size has reached above 1.3 GB!. Do MPG files take more space than AVI?

Well, they take space but such a HUGE difference??

Are you sure the resolution and other quality settings are in default or they have been upped?

They're default. At last it ended at 1.3GB. Whoa! And I thought my PC would blast soon!

The conversion must have taken several hours.
Get the player checked at a dealer.

First, try using a smal converted file

Yeah! took more than 2 hours. That's why I was worried. I guess MPG will work because the manual says it supports VCDs.

Also try using a lens cleaner. That might do the trick.

Get it serviced.

Can you also tell me whether this DVD player (Philips DVP 3120) will play PAL or NTSC. If both, which will be better?
