guys ... can someone suggest me on picture settings like brightness, color etc. got a samsung 550 and want to know about your picture settings

550 full HD
Viewing distance: 5-6 ft
room: bedroom with good light condition, but i prefer to watch in dark
source: HDD, DTH will be installed 2moro
formats: BRRips (full HD and HD)

that's gr8, but sometimes colors are too bright .. will share if i found anything else. thanks bro

The think which you want is Calibration.
There are hardware (which cost a fortune) to do that. And software also.

But in my experience those setting are subjective. Depends on the model of monitor you have, and also your own personal choice.

Best would be to experiment. Its best to set contrast as low as you can, and then increase brightness to a level that don't hurt your eyes.
