Hi friends Please help me with following to buy a new sys with a budget of 50k.

1. Suggest me the best configuration for buying a AMD based Processor.
2. Is there any MOBO currently available(in india) that supports PCI express 16x?
3. Should I get the sys now or wait some time(how long?) to be able to use PCI express graphics card?

1) im tired of giving configs. .. so wait for someone else
2) yeah there are quite a few mobos in the market supporting pci express ..
but pci express is only for pentiums new lga 775 processors as of now
not for AMD
future AMD chipset nforce4 is said to support pci express and ddr2.....
3) since we are nearing the end of the year .. i suggest u wait for a while. ... id suggest u buy early next year ... but then theres always a reason to wait ... ;)

1. Search arnd and u will get one.
2. None for AMD as of now but things will change on the arrival of Nf4 based mobos.
3. If u want PCI-E cards (?read spend more) then wait till Jan or Feb toll nf4 based mobo start trickling.

Ok, here's what your going to look for.

CPU: S939 AMD64

HSF: Get a Zalman all copper 7000

Mobo: Nforce4 Ultra (and if you can afford it SLi instead) Make sure it's the Nforce4 A03 revision chipset, Up until A02 there are problems with the PCI-e and 5x HTT

RAM: PC3200 Dual Channel kit, preferably 1024mb

HD: Seagate Baracuda 80GB sata w/ 8mb Cache

Case: (up to you, but make sure it's got good ventilation)

Power Supply: Enermax, Antec, Sparkle (whatever PS is available to you) 400 - 450 should be fine, dual fan preferable

Optical Drive: First 8x+-DVDRW, 2nd 16xDVDROM (2nd is optional)

Floppy: 3 1/2"

Video Card: Well if you have non SLi mobo, use a x600xt ATi radeon 0r 6600ut Nvidia, if you have a sli dual 6600ut Nvidia
