PC upgrade within 35k (max)

Gaming PC upgrade within 35k (max)

1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans:
Mostly games like x-com, cs-go, crysis series, battelfield series, call of duty series.
Programming - Java web development
75% would be gaming and 25% would be other work (including programming)

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans: 30k. I can extend upto a maximum of 35k.

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: No

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: Windows 7/8

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: Already have HDDs (total 2TB) and an SSD (120GB Samsung evo).

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans:Already have a Dell 24" monitor. Full-HD (1920 x 1080).

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans:
Plan on reusing the following:
1. HDDs (total 2TB) and an SSD (120GB Samsung evo).
2. PSU - Corsair vx450
3. Cabinet - CM 334 Elite
4. Monitor (see my answer above)
5. Keyboard and Mouse: CM Quickfire (Cherry red) + MX 518

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: By Dec 15th, 2014

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: I'll build it myself.

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans: New Delhi. Preferably online.

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans: Currently I have an Athlon II X2 240 with 4GB RAM and HD 7750. Games do run, but not at Full-HD and with the settings I would like to play them at. Should I upgrade JUST my processor/RAM/motherboard, or I should buy a new GFX card as well? Would prefer an i5 config.

Thanks for the config deathblade. FYI, my current RAM is DDR2.

But there are three problems with this config:
1. Only 4GB RAM. I was planning for at least 8GB.
2. Total comes out around 40k, way above my budget. Remember, budget is 30K. 5K more only if very necessary.
3. The prices are lower than those of online sites like Flipkart, Amazon, etc. Could you also post link to the places with these prices?

Thanks again for your time.

Sorry mate. Can't do that. Would be putting the unused stuff into another computer. Budget stays at 30K.

Can you suggest a config within 30 - 35k?

Finally decided on the following config:

Proc: i5 4460 - 12500
RAM: HyperX Fury 8GB (8GB X 1) - 5200
Motherboard: Asrock H97M Pro4 - 7000 (Going with this because of Intel LAN)
GPU: Sapphire dual-x r9 270X 2GB - 14700

Total = 39500/-
Going to sell HD 7750 = 4500/- (expected)

Effective cost = 35000/-

What say?

Re: Gaming PC upgrade within 35k (max)

I would suggest you to cut short on other things and invest in a better gpu

So I have changed the config according to your suggestions. Please see if this is now fine:

Proc: i5 4460 - 11500
RAM: HyperX Fury 8GB (8GB X 1) - 5200
Motherboard: Asrock B85M Pro4 - 5000 (Going with this because of Intel LAN)
GPU: Sapphire dual-x r9 280x 3GB - 21500

Total ~ 44000/-
Going to sell HD 7750 = 4500/- (expected)

Effective cost ~ 40000/-

Can't go any higher than this.

One thing which worries me is whether my Corsair vx450 would be able to handle the 280x. If not, then I would pick up a r9 285.

Nope, I don't have the money to change my PSU. I checked. 280x would be a risk with that PSU. So I would have to either pick up a r9 285 or a GTX 760. I would probably be going with r9 285.

Re: PC upgrade within 35k (max) [Solved]

Yes, I heard about the GTX 960 too and have decided to hold off the GPU purchase. :-D

So right now I would be upgrading just my CPU, motherboard and RAM.

Thanks guys for all your inputs.
