1. What is the purpose of the computer? (Note: If you are planning to say multimedia, you will have to be more specific as all types of systems are capable of doing that)
A:Doing everyday stuff :)). Internet surfing, watching movies, playing some games.

2. Are you open to alternate ideas/products giving similar better performance but offering more VFM/ sellers? If not- why?
A:Yes, but not AMD processor.

3. What is your MAX budget?
A:15k, but would like if its even lesser(about 12k)

4. Planning to overclock?
A:NO!

5. Which OS are you planning to use?
A:Windows 7 ultimate

6. How much hard drive space is needed?
A:500GB- enough?

7. What resolution will the screen run at & whats the size of the screen you want? If you already want have one and want to use it, mention its resolution and size.
A:15-16"+

8. How would you rate your hardware knowledge from the count of 1-10? (1 being the lowest, 5 being you are somewhat in sync with the current performers and 10 being the highest)
A:43 :))

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
A:Assembler

10. When are you planning to buy the system?
A:Late August-Starting of September

11. Are you one of the types looking out for "future proof" configurations?
A:Yes, as no upgrades for 3-4 years

12. Are there going to be any components that you don't want to include in this new rig? If yes, do mention.
A:I dont think so. I will add if I remember anything :))

13. Which city do you live in and are you open to buying from shops from other city/states?
A:Delhi, and delhi only (but thats not main issue, as the assembler himself will get the parts)

14. Mention any other points if deemed necessary
A:

This computer is for my friend. This will be his first computer(but he wont be using computer first time ;) ), so I dont think he will do much. He says that things he would do for sure are: Surfing, Downloading stuff from net, Playing some games, doing homework assignments(mainly of Ms Office), watching videos/movies.
The computer should be the best, as he doesn't want to do any changes in it for 3-4 years(more if it can :) ). He prefers Intel, and wont go for AMD processor at any cost.

Is 500GB enough if he wants no upgrades for next 4 years?

Please suggest a configuration. :)

I just got his message that he is ready to spend 20k(but not more :|).

He doesn't need a UPS.

Also suggest an AMD config. I will see if he agrees :D

Wait For Bulldozer.........

But at this price AMD is the ultimate choice and is much better ttban intel..
I know, but my friend doesn't agree. I will see if he agrees(will ask him this evening). He says "Wo local hai"

UPDATE:
Now he looks very crazy! He is not sure about anything. He says he can add 5000 from his side(his dad is paying other 20k), and get the computer for 25k if it really worth it. He also says he will go for AMD processor if he can run the newest games!

Actually the PC is for my friend, who looks very confused. While I was making this topic, he said "No AMD or local things like that". Now I dont know which magical fairy changed his mind and he says "I will go for AMD if I can play latest games". Can that motherboard handle latest games(at lowest settings?)

EDIT: Oh. 2 posts before I posted. Bad day for my posting speed :))
