1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans: Mostly will be using it for browsing, MS-office, and viewing videos.

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans: Its strictly below 25k

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: No

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: Windows 7/8

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: 500 GB will be fine

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans: Yes i want to buy a monitor. Pls suggest good models. I have no idea about screen size n resolution

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: No re-usage

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans:Within one week

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: Yes by an assembler

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans:Both can be preferred

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans:No

i3 3220 (7500)
Gigabyte GA-H61M-DS2 (3250)
EVM 4 GB 1333 MHz RAM (2000)
WD Blue 500 GB (3200)
Antec BP300P (2099)
local cabinet without PSU (800)
Asus optical drive (1000)
Logitech MK200 (800)
Dell IN2030 (6000)

total: 26,649

i3 3220 >>> G2020. It will work smoothly for many years whereas G2020 may start feeling slow after about 2 years.

you can delay optical drive to furthur reduce price by 1k.

^^i don't agree :) if office work means browsing, MS-office, and viewing videos then i do all of this on an intel atom single core system which is nowhere near pentium G.i agree that i don't watch HD videos with 20 tabs opened in background while working on a 1000 entries complex excel worksheet but then if someone is doing this in an office then i think employer/boss has much more to worry about employees than systems.;)

Pentium G is miles away faster than atom core, core 2 duo and even lower end core 2 quad.

I have personally used both pentium g and i3 at same for many days and i feeled 0% difference between them.G2020 can easily handle 1080p videos smoothly.:)

guys, even if G2020 suffices office needs, isn't it good if an i3 3220 can be accommodated by investing just 1k more?

^^yes but @op says strictly below 25k & i don't see any configuration listed here including a ~Rs.1100 UPS which is a must for office work.this will at least give @op options about whether to extend budget or not considering that cheaper G2020 will work just as fine.
