Some upfront points : Guys I am buying this system for atleast 5 years tenure, hence once I have bought this I shall be pretty much locked up for 5 years with it,
That being said, I am going to use the system for both Gaming and productive purposes(Quantitative Finance + Spreadsheet operations).
I am a bit confused between desktop v/s. laptop,
I was looking for a laptop here : *www.thinkdigit.com/forum/laptops-netbooks/180361-laptop-gaming-productivity-under-50-2k.html
But,the general impression I drew from there was a desktop shall be better if I sacrifice the portability.
I am also going to buy a Nexus 7(2012), so I am a bit tied up on the budget terms.
Please do advise me about the laptop v/s desktop issue and will the config elow shall be better than the laptop I was earlier going to have - HP Pavilion 15-n013TX Laptop (4th Gen Ci5/ 4GB/ 1TB/ Win8/ 2GB Graph) [Gpu- 740m] or Lenovo Ideapad Z500 (59-380480)

1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans: Games like BF3+4, NFS series,DmC, PoP, Assassin's Creed Series, GTA V, CRYSIS 3, Batman AA, & all the upcoming and latest titles. Apart from this, I will be using it to view webcasts and online classes, spreadsheet operations and quantitative analysis, and web browsing.

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans: 50k

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: yes, but not is very near future

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: Win 7/8

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: 1 TB

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans: Yes, suggest one with the config

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: Speakers, Keyboard+mouse

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: Jan14, 1st week

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: Assembler

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans: Will buy online unless better prices are available locally

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans: I don't want to sound too confused but, if I am going for the desktop, is it worth to wait for Kaveri apus?

Thanks @harshilsharma63 and @ankush28 :) , is there any intel alternative and, how's fx 6300 for purpose of a rig meant to be unaltered for 5 years. I am willing to spend 5k more if it results in any considerable changes.

um..
I have to ask something,
@ASHISH65: What's the difference b/w Kingston HyperX DDR3 4 GB (1 x 4 GB) PC RAM (KHX16C9B1R/4)[Red One] and Kingston HyperX Blu DDR3 4 GB PC RAM (KHX1600C9D3B1/4G)[Blue one], and since the price is good, can I buy this now and decide about the rest of my rig later? Won't there be any compatibility issues with mobos of AMD/Intel build ?

OK, apart from ram, I want to go with R9 270X,
Now is it decent enough? And can I safely expect it to kickass of every upcoming game?
It's listed @16.5k on mdcomputers, better price available anywhere?

And luckily, bf4 is being offered with ASUS GRAPHICS CARD R9 270X DC2 2GB DDR5 :D

R9 270X is slightly powerful than previous HD 7870 and it will let you play all the current gamest with good amount of high settings @ 1080P resolution, however, not sure for 3-4 years. For Graphics card, opt for HIS R9 270X ICEQ X2 BOOST card which is available at 15.6K in MDcomputers. This card has better cooling solution than other 270X cards at the same price point. So you can overclock it to fetch a couple of higher FPS in games. HIS GRAPHICS CARD R9 270X ICEQ X2 BOOST CLOCK 2GB DDR5

Ok, then ram+gpu is confirmed, now,
pls tell whether fx6300 is good or should I go with the i5 only?
Do you think fx6300 will become a bottleneck for gpu post 5 years?

dont think any current date rig will serve alright after a tenure of 5 years..with all eye candy and graphics hungry games rolling out, its hard to say. like 780ti gets 61fps on 2560 resolution..so yeah, the rig which you've decided now will hold good for maybe 2 years..and post that, you will get around 30-40 fps on med settings(provided games become more and more graphics hungry then).
