pc and laptop networking

Broken In
I have a pc with ati ixp 150 chipset and Realtek RTL8139 onboard ethernet card.
I want to connect it to an acer4150 laptop with Intel 915 motherboard and onboard intel lan card.
both have windows xp sp2 installed.
I networked them with home networking wizard in windows xp.
i can access shared folders of laptop on pc.but when i try to access shared folder of pc on laptop the window stops responding.though shared folders do appear on laptop.
what is the reason. is there any setting that has been tweaked by someone the cause of problem as i have got the laptop from someone.
plz help

1. Turn on all the below services!
1. Internet Connection Sharing and windows firewall

2. Print and file sharing

3. Netbios over tcp/ip

4. Simple file sharing(folder options)

5. All the other corresponding services in services.msc!


2. Open registry "regedit"

HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa\restrictanonymous
Edit regkey from hexadecimal "1" (or wateva) to "0"


3. Restart

U shud wait, for laptop when it stops responding!
