Optimum Configuration

Dhanvi Sreenivasan

Right off the assembly line
Dear users,
I am a IX student from Pune. I would like to buy a ready made desktop or assemble a new computer, as my old one is........... well, old. So, I am a regular reader of the Magazine and am very happy with the June anniversary issue. Anyway, straight to the point.
I would like the computer to be able to play the latest games at decent frame rates without all ultra settings and at visible resolution and detail.Also, we will be needing it to setup home office and considerable data crunching will be there, and the heavy use of spreadsheets and outlook. I have the following and hopefully would like to reuse,
1. Syncmaster 740n monitor at around 17"
2. Altec Lansing Speakers
3.Iball Keyboard and Microsoft mouse.

Also, here are the specs of what I want
1. A second gen i3/i5 processor or equivalent AMD
2. A 1 GB memory graphics card.(Either NVIDIA or AMD) DX11 capable.
3. 4 GB ram
4. A good motherboard with USB 3.0 and if possible, UEFI bios.
5. 1 - 2 TB hard drive
6. A new power supply and chassis

Oh, and I have a budget of 30,000 and can be stretched to max. 40,000. Also, I have no problem going to Mumbai to buy the parts, but pleaase suggest a few shops on Lamington road to which I can go to. Also, phone numbers and addresses would be fantastic and very much welcome.

Thank you so much in advance,
with heart-felt gratitude,
DHANVI

^^ Second that config, however, if you can get the i5 2400 for Rs. 9,200 or less, grab that instead, and please grab a new Keyboard/Mouse set(don't compromise there buddy!)

@Dhanvi
I can understand that you want to keep the monitor but that PC will be a HUGE overkill for that monitor. Better upgrade it to at least a 20" and I agree with comp@addict, a slight investment can go a long way in comfort and longevity.

@game-freak
Nice config, just change the PSU to Corsair VX 450 @ 3.5k.
