    i have java installed on my system but when i try to run java applet in opera it asked me to install java . also when i try to chack mark " Enable java " optiion in quick prefrences. i couldn't do that.
    i also want to know if i don't have java then how come appletes are woorking in IE6.
    please help me.

    IE uses a different java thing, for opera you will need to download & install one seperately.

    http://java.sun.com/downloads/index.html - On this page, under java 2 platform Java 2 Platform, Standard Edition (J2SE), choose j2se 1.4.2 or 1.5 . better to go the latest version, but 1.4.2 works fine for me.
