online storage

Is there any online storage site where we can store our important docs and files so that we can retrieve them from where ever we want......

i visited idrive.com but they need us to install their software for backup....

I need this because I cant carry my pendrive everywhere... so if I need a file I can just need to go to a cybercafe and just download what i want... and cybercafe does not allow us to install our softwares

i want sites like idrive where we want to enter a password to get our data downloaded...
it should be free.....upto 2gb storage and unlimited download limit...

never list sites like rapidshare and megaupload... they just suck

y not use ur own Email id as gmail , yahoo ...
they give u unlimited storage if not atleast wat u want

Box.net. Or if you just want to store docs, then zoho or google docs. You can login in zoho using your yahoo/gmail account as well.

because they require u to install their software which we is not possible with every machine u can use....

dont go for 4shared.com, you need to login the account once in a month atleast otherwise your files will get deleted.

skydrive/mediafire is best in this regard.

also with IE, upload is lot simpler, just drag and drop and the best thing I like about skydrive is hotlinking although I'm not sure whether its allowed as per skydrive terms & policies.

iDrive is cool. It automatically syncs my documents so I don't have to do it automatically. I can use web based interface to download documents from another computer. And I have cool 12GB space.

Live Mesh allows syncing too and has its own web interface too. It has been opened for India.

But the problem with Yahoo! is ADs, though we can use adblocks to avoid them
Also dont trust sites that offer Unlimted Storage since most of time they suspend your account due to large amount of space used.

Will these online services ever be trusted with sensitive data or am i being just foolish??

Another query: Can i download a file directly to my Sky Drive a/c as upload speed with ADSL is not great ? Is it possible?
