Hi
I have an old P 166MhzMMX system. She has been 'decommissioned' after 7 years of service. now i have a brand new AMD3000+ system with MSI rs480 mobo.

Now I don't want to shell out money for new speakers and so want to use the creative speakers of the old system. Since it doesn't have amplification, i'll also have to transfer the Sound Blaster 16 card to the new system.

Will there be any problems if i use the sb16 card with the new mobo ( MSI RS480 m2 ) The mobo has onboard realtek ac'97 audio. I'm concerned about damage to the mobo sound system.

Alternatively, is there any jumper or other setting on the mobo to provide onboard sound amplification ?

There's a very good chance that your old soundblaster is an ISA card, so you won't be able to use it in your new mobo.
Why do you want to use 7 year old speakers anyways? You can get a really cheap set of speakers for 300-500 bucks.
