I have a movie in .ogm format. What should I do before writing to a CD so that it can be played using an ordinary VCD player

use virtualdubMOD to convert it to AVI and then burn it as vcd...

Don't use VirtualDub. You can directly convert OGM formats to VCD/ DVD using
MovKit Batch Video Converter.

Qwerty i don't think u can play avi files in vcd players. You have to first convert the ogm file to mpg-1(vcd format) file format. U can use this software to do it *www.tomdownload.com/multimedia_design/video/movkit_batch_video_converter.htm

By the way don't you think that MovKit Batch Video Converter. is a bit too slow ? Doesn't it take as long as 4 hours to finish converting a one and half hour movie to VCD format in a 2.4 Ghz machine ? So,anything else that anybody knows ?

well, to be frank i haven't tried any software for the problem you have put forward. Nways i have googled for the conversion software but it seems there aren't much software for the purpose. But if i find a better one, wud b glad to tell you.
