If you have genuine windows 10 key linked to your Microsoft account, you can download ISO from ms.com and use same key to install 11. Use rofus to create bootable, there is an option to disable that TPM thingy.

Q1. Is it possible to disable updates completely? I don't even want to receive notifications for updates.

Q2. How can I set it to 'Do Not Disturb' mode so that no software can display pop-ups during this mode?

@kunnusingh Yes, it is possible to disable updates completely in Windows 11. You need a third-party tool called SledgeHammer 2.7.3 rc1. Search for it on the net and install. It’s free. Note that its previous version 2.7.2 does not work on Win 11. Only this 2.7.3 rc1 should work.

It disables updates to an extent that even MS store downloads are disabled. The tool has an option to temporarily allow MS Store downloads if you wish to install apps from it. If you do not find it on the net let me know, I will share it thru some way like gdrive or dropbox.

Note that I had tested it on earlier version of Windows 11. Not too sure if it will work on 22H2.
After you run it, the Update setting itself gets removed from the Settings App.

but i am not sure how long they will allow the free upgrade/.

I am not upgrading just because they removed the ability to select custom folders for backup using file history (pics & docs from my int. HDD gets synced to ext HDD on daily basis).

There were many other such features which were removed, some returned back. There are good new features, esp with 22H2 of Win11. So take your call based on features you use & its availability in Win11.

^I also have similar requirement, to sync files to external hdd and faced the same issue which I found out only after upgrading the OS. Then I came across this software
*www.2brightsparks.com/download-syncbackfree.html
As of now using this in Win 11 to take backup of newly added files.

I am using EaseUS to do backup. Does BrightSparks take incremental backup and compresses the files ?
I am not sure about the compression. But it does take incremental backup. You have the option to run a simulation, which shows what exactly is missing/different in the source or destination directory, e.g. it will highlight the newly added or modified files.

To create a recovery disk on a Dell Vostro laptop, should I be using the in-built Windows recovery drive tool or the dell os recovery tool? Which one is recommended?
