Nvidia graphics with ubuntu

first ques-which ubuntu to install??7.10 64 bit or 8.04 alpha 4 64 bit???
2nd-how to istall deriver s for GPU without gettign any probs.
y'day i installed hardy and got many graphix probs like monitor going on standby mode when new gpu drivers installed etc etc.
where are u praka123???

I dont know about Hardy and others.. But it worked perfectly fine for me on Ubuntu 7.10 given with Digit December DVD

@sunny:you can complete ur installation with gutsy;then use vesa driver to have GUI(Gnome).now download and install latest nvidia driver for Linux manually from here,also follow the installation help too:
*www.nvidia.com/object/linux_display_ia32_169.09.html

still,Ubuntu gutsy doesnot carry latest nvidia driver 169.09 :(

Yes as far as i know it'll definitely work for hardy as well

install latest nvidia driver for Linux manually from here,also follow the installation help too:
*www.nvidia.com/object/linux_display_ia32_169.09.html

still,Ubuntu gutsy doesnot carry latest nvidia driver 169.09 :(

1) My advice is not to use 64bit unless absolutely needed.

2) Don't use alpha/beta versions of any distro if you are trying out Linux or are a first time user :)

well!Debian got 169.09 driver 3 days after nvidia's releasing.but..Ubuntu :?
well,if not much deps are there,u can use hardy's nvidia-glx + use module-assistant to compile ur kernel modules.
