Wise Old Owl
Firstly my PC Info
P4-2.4Ghz without HT
256MB DDR 400 RAM
80GB 7200rpm Seagatte Harddrive
Intel 845GVSR Motherboard with onboard 64MB AGP Memory
RealTek 97 Audio
Win XP with SP2
My PC makes a lot of noise when working. When I start it it does not make that much noise but after 2-3 minutes of booting up it makes a loud like that of a hair dryer and is so loud that it can be heard in the next room and is annoying if i work on it at night.
The noise may not be from the HDD because I recently changed my HDD and this noise problem was with the previous 20GB HDD also.
My PC Vendor does not think it as a serious problem and tells me that every 2.4GHz processor of Intel has a problem with the fan and all such processors make similar noise due to the defective fan. He also says that there is no use of replacing the original fan with a local one. Is the above statement true?
I even tried Motherboard Monitor Program but it does not support my Motherboard and i do not know how to change its settings according to my Motherboard.
A new thing which I have noticed that when I keep a wet cloth on the CPU cabinet the voice slows down.
But I can't bear such a loud voice. What should I do? Its getting noisier day by day.
