I recently bought a New Laptop...HP COMPAQ PRESARIO C700, and I found one problem that never occurred to me before.

When I plug in my headphone and play a music, the music, ofcourse comes from the headphone but funniest part is the sound comes from the Laptop Sound box too....I tried every possibilities, but could not locate from where to configure it.....Please guys, help me......

I found that my Audio Driver was Conexant High Defination Audio-Venice 5045
My system configuration is Intel Celeron,
1GB RAM
2 GHz Processor

in your sound cards application program check what mode in which the chipset is running in. Change it to 2-channel mode

it is probably running in 4/6 channel mode

So the headphone speakers are acting like rear speakers and lappy speakers as front speakers or vice versa

When I bought it, I came with Windows XP SP2....And I check everything.....everything is fine, but instead it gave the same result.

By the ways....do you think my Conexant Sound Driver can be replaced by Real tech? I will try if its working.......
