No Display in Monitor

hi all

i assembled a PC some 6 months back.. an Asus M2N MX motherboard, AMD 3800+ , zion 512MB x2 DDR2 RAM, Samsung 160GB HDD, LG Flatron CRT.

A few days back, the screen suddenly hanged. neither the keyboard nor the mouse was working. when i had to reboot, there was no display. no sound is coming out either. the power light of the monitor is just blinking on and off, like in standby mode.

pls suggest what to do. i hope i have been able to describe the problem properly..

there can be many reason. first check SMPS
Does the SMPS fan swing when you give power??????

Most probably its the ram.try replacing it with another

tell ur problem in detail.... when does it hang... which OS... hangs after using ur comp for sometime... or before booting into any OS... if u really want an solution then its better 2 provide all pariticulars

hi...I'm a noob myself...but i've faced this problem too and here is what i think is the solution...try it out..

I believe the problem is because of conflicting drivers ..the motherboard video driver and the video card driver. You'll have to disable one of them...preferrably the on board ones from bios setup. as for switchin on your monitor now...this is what i did...I disconnected the monitor jack from behind the cpu and switched on the system ( by this time your monitor should be displayin " No signal detected" or something to that effect ) continue booting that way and once you are at the windows welcome screen or desktop ( you'll know where you are from experience ) reconnect the monitor cable..your display should come on...it worked for me..I hope it does for you...
