Boot into ur System using CD 1 of Mandrake and then, there should be Rescue Option there, choose it....
then type this command.....
grub-install /dev/hda

i dont know the exact procedures in Mandrake 10.1 as i am not using it, but the above command is a standard one to reinstall GRUB boot loader in MBR.....
Also backup these files of WinXP ( before doing reinstalling GRUB) in a Floppy by copying these files to it...
1]Hal.dll
2]boot.ini
3]ntldr
4]ntdetect.com
