I need a configuration for my cousin's kid (6-7 yrs old). Following are his replies to the questions:

1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans: Desktop Home PC. To be used mostly for & by a young kid 6-7 yrs old. Should be able to play itunes+media player for movies. Facebook games.

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans: 20-25K. Rig should be Intel based with latest hardware.

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: No

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: Windows 7/8 64-bit

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: 500 GB

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans: medium screen+high resolution.

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: Don't have anything.

IMO IGP should be enough. No need for discreet graphics card.

My cousin lives in Mumbai & would be purchasing the rig from there.
Can you specify from where u got the rates?
When was the last time the rates were updated?
The rig is basically for his kid daughter but it would also be used for work.
And he needs it to be future proof for atleast 3-4 years.

In Normal usage - browsing,ms office Both i3 and G2020 perform same.But In games and multithreaded applications i3 is way faster than g2020
