1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans: Software development for Mobile Platforms. I will be compiling lots & lots of code (intermediate binaries from source code will be around 60GB. Most of the code will be downloaded from internet - around 5 to 8GB). It takes 3 to 4 hours in my office with i7- 3770 and 8GB RAM

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans: 50K (+/-) 10K

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: No

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: Debian Linux

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: 2TB

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans: Yes. 22" (prefer one with height adjustible)

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: I have keyboard, mouse and speakers.

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: 2 - 3 weeks

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: No. I will get it done by assembler

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans: Bangalore. I will be buying locally

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans: I am thinking to use 128 GB SSD + 1TB HDD. Just to get the speed. Please share your opinion

FX 8350 (13000)
Asus M5A97 R2.0 (7200)
Kingston HyperX Blu 8 GB x2 (9000)
Asus HD5450 (2800)
Seagate Barracuda 2 TB (6200)
NZXT Gamma (2300)
LG E2242C 22" FHD LED monitor (9000)
Seasonic S12II 430 W (3600)
Samsung 840 128 GB SSD (7000)

total: ~62k.

See if you can go with a used monitor. This way you can include more ram. Also, see if you can include Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO.

And please assemble it yourself, its very easy.

Thanks for the information.

The prices are more or less matches the prices on Flipkart, amazon and ebay.in.

Is it reliable buy from ebay? (I havent not purchased any item till now on eBay).

Also I saw that there are 2 variants in
ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0 and ASUS M5A97 R2.0 AM3+ 970 SATA

which is the one that you are referring to?

Can you suggest a different cabinet. I didnt the shape of NZXT Gamma.

Finally, can i know the reason for your recommendation of AMD - FX8350? why not i7-3770? (I am just curious to know your opinion, since there is a big gap in price between the two, I just want to know in what way FX8530 lags i7-3770)

Thanks

> eBay is reliabl if you know how it works, which seller to buy from and which payment method to choose. Google for soem tips. If the seller is a "power seller", then you can buy eyes closed. Also look for seller rating Try to buy form sellers having a rating of 90% or above.

> Get Asus M5A97 R2.0 AM3+ 970 SATA.

> WHo said FX 8350 lags i7 3770? 3770 IS faster than FX 8350. Actually, in many softwares (especially the multi-core efficient ones) FX 8350 performs close to i7 3770. Considering the ~10k price difference between the tho chips, FX 8350 comes out as the best VFM chip.
