MV VIP to the MAX
Hi people,
As some of you will know that i was earlier planning to buy a pc for 40k but delayed it to next year. Now there's only one laptop at home which is insufficient for everyone's needs. So my father has allowed me to buy a new rig which will contain parts that i won't need to change when i upgrade next year.
1. What is the purpose of the computer? (Note: If you are planning to say multimedia, you will have to be more specific as all types of systems are capable of doing that)
A: Movies, Gaming, C++ / Java programming
2. Are you open to alternate ideas/products giving similar better performance but offering more VFM/ sellers? If not- why?
A:Yes
3. What is your MAX budget?
A:30k
4. Planning to overclock?
A: Yes
5. Which OS are you planning to use?
A: Windows 7 Professional and Ubuntu
6. How much hard drive space is needed?
A:500 GB
7. What resolution will the screen run at & whats the size of the screen you want?
A: Its a 15"
monitor from compaq although i don't know the resolution.
8. How would you rate your hardware knowledge from the count of 1-10? (1 being the lowest, 5 being you are somewhat in sync with the current performers and 10 being the highest)
A: 8
9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
A: Never built one before. This one will be done by uncle and i'll learn to do it.
10. When are you planning to buy the system?
A: This Weekend
11. Are you one of the types looking out for "future proof" configurations?
A: Nope (for processor, motherboard as i'll upgrade next year)
12. Are there going to be any components that you don't want to include in this new rig? If yes, do mention.
A: Monitor
13. Which city do you live in and are you open to buying from shops from other city/states?
A: Delhi and no, i'll buy from nehru place or noida only
14. Mention any other points if deemed necessary
A: An AMD athlon ii x3 will be just fine
Please suggest ASAP as i'll be buying Friday / this weekend
The config i've thought of -
Processor: AMD Athlon ii x3 435 (will change next year)
Motherboard: Biostar 785G3 HD (will change next year)
Graphics card: None (will add next year)
RAM: 2 GB DDR3 (will add more next year)
HDD: WD caviar blue 500GB
ODD: Please suggest
Cabinet: NZXT Gamma + fans (please suggest alternatives due to scant availability in delhi)
PSU: Corsair VX550
Mouse: Logitech MX518
Keyboard: Please suggest
UPS: Numeric 1KVA
Please try to keep it as low as possible
