New Graphics Card

Hi, I was thinking of upgrading my Graphics card.
I'm currently running Intel Core 2 Duo E7500 2.93GHz, with Intel DG41RQI motherboard and 2GB + 2GB DDR2 RAM.
With ATI Radeon 4770 HD Card I got more than 1 and half years ago.

I wanted to upgrade my Graphics card and was thinking of
MSI N 550GTX- Ti Cyclone II 1GD5/OC
Code:
. It appox costs Rs.9.5K
OR
XFX ATI Radeon
Code:
*xfxforce.com/en-gb/products/GraphicCards/HD%206000series/6790.aspx
. It appox costs Rs.9.2K

My price range is <12K and it should be obvious upgrade over old card.

So which card would you suggest?

Also I wanted to know should I stick to XP OS or upgrade to 7 OS for new card? As my main intention of getting the card is to also play Battlefield 3.

And I'm keeping option open to buy online. So you can suggest links if any!!

^^ which PSU do you have ??

Under 12k the best deal you can get is HD6870 Hawk - it's worth the money you pay for it ;-) and upgrade to windows 7 ;-)

PSU is iBall Sprinter 500, Maximum Output = 500W.

what if I have to choose between MSI N 550GTX- Ti Cyclone II 1GD5/OC and XFX ATI Radeon 6790 HD?

Also i checked an online site which sells cards, they have foll option for 6870 HD
And 1 in particular to go for
- Sapphire Radeon HD6870 1GB ATI
- Asus Radeon HD6870 1GB DDR5 ATI PCI E Graphic Cards (EAH6870-2DI2S-1GD5)
- Power Color Radeon HD6870 1GB GDDR5 ATI PCI E Graphic Cards (AX6870 -1GBD5-2DH)
- Sapphire Radeon HD6870 Flex Edition 1GB DDR5 ATI PCI E Graphic Cards
- Sapphire Radeon HD6870 1GB (Vapor Edition) ATI PCI E Graphic Cards
- XFX Radeon HD6870 1GB DDR5 ATI PCI E Graphic Cards (HD-687A-ZNFC)

Don't get XFX and for PSU you can take a look at Corsair VX430v2 @ ~2.3k.

The only output which you will get at 500w load with this PSU is smoke. Replace it with something reliable.

You are actually lucky that it has lasted you this long with a graphic card like HD 4770.

But I'm not buying from Rashi Peripherals. I'm ordering online via www.theitdepot.com because place where I leave (Goa) there are no good shops to buy PC stuff  so such things have to be brought online.
