networking problem

I have two computers at home. one fine day I recieved an eror message on one of them saying that 'Windows has recovered from a serious error'
so I re-installed the SP1. From that day on the networking between two computers has stopped. I have checked the TCP/IP settings. they are OK tell me what to do?

Could you be more specific as to what the OSes are in the systems ? If both are XP then perhaps you need to redo the networking to enable it.
