Networking Help

hi

i hav a laptop and a desktop which i would lik to connect. the only hardware i hav is a RJ45 connector.... can any1 plz tell me how to connect the two...
the desktop has a lan card and both are windows machines...
i tried usin borg-chat but hav a few issues with the settings...

Already explained so many times.
1)Take a LAN wire....and climp it cross.
2)Connect both PC n laptop through LAN wire.
3) Now do LAN confrigation.
4) start-->> control panel-->> network connection-->> right click "local area connection"-->>properties

5)Double click internet protocol (TCP/IP)

6) Make setting as shown below.

In another system ....just change the IP address to 192.168.1.3
and let other setting be the same.

In DNS server address you can enter any thing but should be same.I am using airtel broadband,so I have entered airtel server address.You can enter your own ISP server address..n thus you can share internet also.
