Netbook cannot detect my DVD Drive

I have acer aspire 4520 notebook,my dvd drive is not seen on win xp(only os is installed)and also not seen in bios and in boot menu....so can anyone tell me that what causes this problem and what i should do.....pls pls help........

why not take it to the service center if it is still under warranty...
in other case also you have to take it to service center, because unlike PC you cannot open laptop screws and start repairing it on your own..
This is just what I think...
