Need of having Graphics card inSAndy bride I5 2400

Please help me to know the advantages of having a graphics card in the following configuration. I want to know specifically in terms of 1)games that could be played, 2)Software processing capabilities like Photoshop, Matlab
The Specs are
Proc - Intel I5 2400
Mobo - Intel H67 BL or Asus P8H67 LE
RAM - Corsair 4gb(2x2gb)
HDD - WD or Seagate 500gb
DVD writer - LG 22x
Monitor - dell 22" st2220l OR sT 2220m
Cabinet - Zebronics Bijli
PSu - Coolermaster 500W

IF the PSU is from Cooler MAster Extreme series then change it before getting a high end graphics card. CM Extreme series PSUs are having very bad reputaion here.
