Need help in setting up a new SATA HDD 500 GB with installation of Windows XP and 7

Guys I recently got a 500 GB Sata HDD which I want to set it up. How do I go about doing this? I want Windows XP and Windows 7 as the two operating system. In that case I need to install Windows XP first right? Also since this is new HDD do I need to do low level format or anything like that.

Its simple. Create two partitions specifically for XP and Windows 7 and then format them using NTFS. A full format would be preferred over quick format and then install
1. Windows XP
2. Windows 7 in their respective drives.
If you find trouble for boot Menu then use Easy BCD to create a custom Boot Menu.

How to Partition? Do I need any specific CD or OS CD will do?

You can create partitions in XP as well as 7 itself.
