firstly... Intel processors give better performance per core then AMD.

intel build:-

intel i3 - 21007k
Gigabyte GA-H61M-S2P3.1k
4GB corsair value ram1.3k
amd hd 65705.4k
seagate/wd 1 TB4.5k
sony dvd rw1k
cooler master elite 3101.9k
corsair cx4302.5k
dell 17" E1709W4.8k
Total-31.5k

AMD build;-
just change processor and mobo...
a8 3850 @ 6.9k
gigabyte a55m-ds2 @ 3.4K

Total - 31.7K

cheers!

If you can reuse your old hdd and hold off purchasing new hdd then..

Config I
Amd fx8120 - 9.5k
Gigabyte GA-880GM-USB3 - 4.8k
G.Skill RipjawsX(1600MHz) DDR3 4GB*2 - 3k
cooler master elite 310 - 1.9k
corsair cx430 - 2.5k
Sapphire Radeon HD 6670 1GB GDDR5 - 5.4k
Dell E1709W - 4.8k
Asus DRW-24B5ST - 1k

With 8 cores fx8120 would be much faster in video conversions.

Config II
Intel i5 2400 - 10.8k
Intel DH67CL - 5.4k
Corsair value RAM(1333MHz) DDR3 4GB*2 - 2.4k
cooler master elite 310 - 1.9k
corsair cx430 - 2.5k
Sapphire Radeon HD 6670 1GB GDDR5 - 5.4k
Dell E1709W - 4.8k
Asus DRW-24B5ST - 1k

If you are more into Virtualisation, run multiple VMs simultaneously or run intensive applications inside VM which requires more cores then fx8120's 8 cores would be handy and better. If you don't require that many core utilisation at a time then i5 2400 is better and faster.i5 2400 with quick sync(intel's video transcoding engine) is very fast in video encoding in applications that support intel's quick sync video.
