Hi guys. Need an ac for 130 sq feet room. Room is on the first floor. And walls are not directly exposed to sunlight but roof is. I'm considering getting a 1.2 ton Hitachi ac because of low power consumption. But I'm not sure if 1.2 ton is enough for my room. My budget is 35k max. Please suggest an AC to buy

Thanks man I was actually waiting for you to reply since you are an ac expert. I trust your reviews and recommendations. Also got a Philips headset last year based on your suggestion. Enjoying it a lot.
Today I visited the local sharp showroom and the guy quoted 36k for the AH-X13PET (Including installation etc) Should I get it online for 32k or from the showroom?
Also a lil correction : room is actually 140 sq feet. But if I exclude the area of cupboards (its height is from floor to ceiling) and table it's around 130 sq feet.
The salesman showed me a Sharp's room size guide and I took the pic too. According to that guide 1.1 ton should be enough for 130 sq feet room at the top floor.

And there are only two models available here. One is PHT other is PET. He quoted 40k for the PHT one.

Once again will wait for your reply before pulling the trigger.

PET is just fine. Ask him to give it to you for Rs 32K and tell him you will take care of the installation. Ill give you Sharps number call em theyll come and install.Installation along with insulation tape for the foam on the copper piping ofvthe internal to the external unit along with vacuuming and a Godrej ODU stand will not cross Rs 2700/3100 So he is taking you for a ride and quoting high.

As for the room size your Sharp can cool well up to 170 sqft but it will cool 140 sqft far more efficiently. So do not worry.

ODU Stand Godrej ( offer maximum distance from installation wall/structure and odu unit) - Rs 950
Insulation Tape (important) - Rs 175 one roll ( max 2 ull need)
Installation,vacuuming and Taping labour - Rs 1500

That's what I wanted to hear. Most local shops here didn't have a 1.1-1.2 ton ac that why they were saying : "Saar your room is on the taap floor, get the 1.5 ton"

The one on the snapdeal costs 32k without installation? I thought instalation was free like the salesman said.

So 32+3=35k should be the right price for it with installation, right? I will try to get him to lower the price to 35k with installation. That way it will be hassle free.

Insulation tape and stand all are the part of the installation kit or I have to purchase them separately?

Insulation Tape and the Godrej ODU stand you will have to purchase separately. The installation kit comes with only the copper pipe, electric wire and water hose.

Thanks for the help guys. X13PET is in the house. Got it for 35.5k from the sharp showroom 4 days ago. Tried bargaining and showed him the price on snapdeal but didn't work instead he showed me the copies of the bills proving that he sold it to people @36k. Snapdeal wasn't shipping at my place so I had no options.

Installation was good. They wanted to place the ODU on the ROOF IN THE DIRECT SUNLIGHT( because it was easier for them). But I insisted to place it under a shade. When I asked them to cover the foam of the pipe with insulation tape like @theincinerator suggested they said "the foam is the insulation tape". So I guess I have to do it by myself. @theincinerator is it doable? Or should I call an electrician?

Anyways now to a short review. Cooling is godlike.
I feel so comfortable that I don't feel like waking up in the morning anymore. Cools the room pretty good even @24°C

I was expecting coanda mode to be a gimmick. But I was so wrong. It's definitely my favorite feature of the X13. If your bed is directly below the AC you will love this mode. Coanda mode with fan on feels so natural. Like you are out in the good weather and gentle breeze is blowing at you.

Then there are two eco mode. First one runs AC at 800 Watt and second at 600 Watt.

My only complain is with the remote (no biggie) .Screen is of poor quality. Managed to scratch the screen on the day one with nails. Also if you got a phone with IR blaster, the remote is incompatible. Friend uses his phone to control his Samsung AC all the time so kind of jealous.

What's the price difference between snapdeal and local dealer? Read somewhere that Lenovo and hp are not offering services on products purchased online. Not sure about Sharp. Talk to snaldeal about the services.

Checkout Hitachi 541 1.2 ton AC. It's a 5 star 1100 Watt AC. This was my second option.

Today talked to snapdeal they told me that all the services will be provided from our end.Strange NA,they told me that you have to just inform us and we will arrange the services from the sharp personal They are quoting me a price of 34.5k.

Standard installation charges will apply i think this will take my another 3-4k bucks

Hi Incinerator,

What does vacuuming an AC means? Does it is needed in both inverter and non inverter models while installation? If it is not done by the installation guy then what are the affects?

He will bring a vacuum pump and connect it between your ac indoor and outdoor unit copper tubing to take out O2 which can corrode the joints if it come in to contact with R410a refrigerant under high pressure.

Hi,
I recently purchased 13 PET model. I need to place the ODU on the roof top so need extra copper piping. Can you give me what will be the cost per meter. Sharp guys are quoting 650 per meter. How do i make sure it is of good quality as you said R410A refrigent requires thick copper piping than used in normal R22.

Please advise.
