Need Guidance on BSNL Broadband

Dear Experts,
i am using BSNL Broadband in my office. this plan is Rs.1110 9upto 15gb free) using Belkin Wireless Modem with Router. directly connected to the PC and i am using my Lapp over wireless mode.

but i am not able to get the exact speed of the BROADBAND. yesterday i have sent my modem to the BSNL office to check with (i was purchased that supperatly). but the officer checkd and confermed that, it is working fine. and the line also seems clear.

what will be the problem with me??

this i using in my office, where we are dealing in tourism services.

Well, what's your bandwidth??

Are you aware of the advertisement thing of bandwidth??

If it's 512kbps then your download speed or actual speed would be 60kBps(avg.)

See, it's 512kbps = 512 kilo bit per second not kilo byte per second.
So to calculate in byte, we'd divide it by 8, and that's 512/8 = 60kBps = 60 kilo Byte per second. Notice the diff. of b in kbps and kBps.
