4. Preferred choice of brand Nokia, Samsung, or any other if reliable in this price range
5. Preferred input method (QWERTY, touchscreen, numpad, touch-n-type). any
6. What camera option you want? Please specify need for flash, autofocus, front facing camera. none matters
7. Preferred operating system? (Android, Symbian, iOS, Windows Phone etc). any
8. Preferred connectivity options (3G, Wifi etc)Please specify clearly. wifi must
9. Preferred applications (Flash, Swype, GPS, etc)? none
10. Primary use of handset (multimedia, camera, mails, internet, gaming etc)? all
11. Any specific mobile phones in consideration yes the Nokia Asha 501 and Samsung Galaxy Star

Any other info that you want to share : Yes, I have a tight budget of 5000-5200rs only :( I checked out online and found these two phone only good in my budget which fullfils all my requirement and those are (Nokia 501 Asha and Samsung Galaxy Star). If anyone have any other choice they can tell if its reliable and fits in my budget. As far as I read online ppl saying that Nokia soon going to come with an update and which will allow whatsapp on Asha if its true kindly confirm.

Edit : Got some more money from friends who burrowed from me and now I get them back from them. So now my budget is 8000rs :D
Now kindly suggest me some good phone. 2 Things are must
a. Should have wifi
b. Should support micro sd

That's good, but it has only 4GB of inbuilt storage and no SD slot. If OP can manage the 4GB with media/apps/games, it will be a good choice.
Whatsapp is already available for Asha, it will be matter of time it will be rolled out to 501. Go for 501.

In that price bracket u don't have much choice...In the phones u've chosen nokia 501 is the better one(though without 3g)... Yesit's getting update for whatsapp...But if ur flexible on brand choice(which i think u shud be for a better deal)...get lava iris 405...can get it locally for 5.2k...My friend has one for abt 2 months now, still smooth....really vfm.

GLxy Young or Fame are good options at 8k budget.For about 9k you could get an S Duos with bigger higher res screen.
