Need a laptop @ 27-32 thousand

Hi guys, I currently own a dell inspiron, but it's a 3 year old one and turns itself off when i do gaming or video encoding. So want to move to a new one.

1. What's my Budget?

- Around 27-32 k, strictly can't up more.

2. What will be my primary usage for the notebook be?

- Web surfing, MS Office, Video encoding, lot of HD movie playback, Games like Counter Strike, [will install ubuntu along with Windows].

3. What size and weight considerations do I have?

- 14' or 15.6' inch HD LED screen within 3 kgs. I'm not into ultra portable and all, because it will heat up pretty soon where i live. Lappy should run cool..

4. Any brand that I prefer, or any brand that I detest?

- NOT impressed with DELL, though they have the best ASS.

5. Any other considerations? (e.g Battery life; Widescreen/non-widescreen; Glossy/Matte screen etc.)

- Widescreen, 3-4 hour battery backup, any finish is fine. Should be fast to my usage and can't upgrade for another 3 years

6. Considering ASUS x53ta, but Counter strike is an opengl game, and I've been reading that AMD's don't support that.. Can I play Counter Strike in Asus LLano?

[And the upcoming Counter-Strike Global Offensive Next year?]

Thanks a lot in advance..

Thanks for the suggestions guys, but I'd like to go for 2nd Gen i5 even if it costs more. I thought of buying the Quad core one because it is economical. BTW I can't find it anywhere, why is that? Do the llanos have any issues?

P.S. - Where can I purchase ASUS in Chennai? Can't find an authorized store.. :(

Have a look at this:

Right off the assembly line
i completely agree with "MyGeekTips".
Asus X Series X53SC-SX492D is the best option right now.
sony E Series VPCEH25EN is also a good option but if you can spare some extra cash,
you get 2ed gen i5,1gb NVIDIA Optimus GTX 520 in Asus.

One question..

So there is one 2nd Gen i3 Asus lappy with GT 520M @ 29k in flipkart (k53e-sx185d)
Another Asus one has 2nd gen i5 and GT 520MX @ 34k. (Asus X Series X53SC-SX492D)

My question is
Will i3 bottleneck the 520M(X) or vice versa?
Is i5 + GT540M is a better choice than i5+GT520M(X) ?

For me, ASUS it is going to be, but considering heavily between llano and i3/i5...

1. i3 will not be a bottleneck for gt520mx because gt520mx is low end card.
2. i5+gt540m is much better than i5+gt520mx.

U can check out Toshiba Satellite C Series Laptop C640-X4012 (Black)
This laptop looks good spec wise,It has the best specs(specially in a 14" laptop) in that price bracket but the thing is that it doesn't have a graphic card.

@aroraanant: Thanks for your suggestion, but two of my friends had Toshiba, not very satisfied with the service.

I read in some reviews that i5+gt540 is quite old combo, whereas the A6 3400 lappy beats it in the graphics department.. :)
