1) What is your budget? (INR or USD)

Haven't decided yet. will vary according to your suggestions.
Anywhere between 60-90k.

2) What size & weight consideration (if any) would you prefer?

15-17"

3) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?

none

4) What are the primary tasks will you be performing with this notebook?

-Gaming
-Programming
-Movies
-Lots of reading text/browsing

5) What screen resolution(s) & type (glossy/matte) would you prefer?

I absolutely hate glossy screens.

6) Anything else you would like to say? (eg: local purchase, ASS,matte/glossy finish

I want the best possible screen under the budget.
I am looking for good viewing angles and decent sunlight visibility.
Hopefully it should play graphic intensive games well.

I currently have a good desktop rig ( i7-930, 6GB Ram,Radeon 5850, 1TB HDD, 24" screen) and I am used to it.

Since I am going to be moving and wont be able to carry the desktop with me, I am looking for a Laptop that would replace this config.
It was 86k when I bought it 3 years ago and hopefully I will get a Laptop with similar specs within my budget today.

Edit: It would be great if you can suggest two laptops: one with a budget around 90k and one with 50-60k.
(it would be alright if the latter had lesser specs)

Edit2: And would anybody have any idea where in Bangalore I can have hands on with these laptops? I have tried Croma, but they have limited models.

Ok.
The design looks uninspired, but its got everything in its spec sheet (even dual hard disks). I can work with that.
Can you also suggest one at the lower end of my budget (around 50-60k).

I like the y500 too. the glossy finish is the only thing holding me back. The screen is like a mirror! :}

If you really insist on best graming and anti glare screen, then Samsung np550 S05 or Dell Inspiron 17R Turbo would be your best bet...

But you can take a look on ASUS G75VW...
