Hello, I am planning to buy a desktop in 15-20 days and could use some help please..

1. What is the purpose of the computer?
A: Gaming/Should run stable for long periods without shutting it down.

2. Are you open to alternate ideas/products giving similar better performance but offering more VFM/ sellers? If not- why?
A: Yes

3. What is your MAX budget?
A: 45k

4. Planning to overclock?
A: Not now maybe later.

5. Which OS are you planning to use?
A: Windows 7 64-Bit

6. How much hard drive space is needed?
A: 1TB

7. What resolution will the screen run at & whats the size of the screen you want?
A: 19-21inch(1080p)

8. How would you rate your hardware knowledge from the count of 1-10? (1 being the lowest, 5 being you are somewhat in sync with the current performers and 10 being the highest)
A: 8

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
A: This will be my 3rd

10. When are you planning to buy the system?
A: in 15 -20 days

11. Are you one of the types looking out for "future proof" configurations?
A: Yes, will upgrade it later

12. Are there going to be any components that you don't want to include in this new rig? If yes, do mention.
A: Keyboard, Mouse, Mousepad and Speakers

13. Which city do you live in and are you open to buying from shops from other city/states?
A: Varanasi, I will buy here.

14. Mention any other points if deemed necessary
A: Will need atleast 8 USB ports (Expecting upto 2 USB 3.0 ports) and must support 802.3u LAN interface

I see thank You For the Suggestion but there are a couple of problems with it. I live in a hostel and will just run LAN related programs all day.. And most important my max budget is 45k (Stuff is costlier in Varanasi).

There are a few things that I would like to point out:

1. I am open for an AMD config (Incl. Bulldozer) and will prefer a motherboard which supports Bulldozer processor (for future upgradation)

2. I need a 1TB HDD

3. I dont need Mouse, Keyboard and Speakers

4. Can you please suggest a lighter case?? 6Kgs sounds too heavy

Change Your Case To Coolermaster Elite 310 for Rs 1600 and You Can Also Change The LCD/Led To A Little Low Size..Like DELL IN2020 HD Led...It is 20" price at RS 6000...

And 1 Tb Hard drive comes To RS 2700

This looks good now I am trying to cut some cost and what do you say if I use the second config and use Sapphire HD6870 instead of Sapphire HD6950 1GB and instead of the Corsair GS600 will Tagan Stonerock 500 do for the graphics card?

For PSU, you will need GS600 with 6870/6950.

It is 45k but the problem is I am in Varanasi and you dont get anything here and the shopkeepers dont know anything about this stuff. So they will have to order it from outside and will charge extra. Do you know any good retailers in Varanasi :cry:

Then you can buy online without paying the extra bucks. Smcinternational.in, theitwares, deltapage.com are some of the most reliable online retailers available and most of the forum members including me have purchased from them. So you can easily order from them and get everything within your budget. If you buy whole system from them then they will provide some discount too. Mail them before purchasing to check the availability, updated price and if any discount is available or not and then make your move.

RMA it and send the part to them or if you have any service center of the brand you brought near your place then go and give it to them.

The service will be same as you buy from the local vendor. If the product has after sales service available in your area you can directly contact them. Else you can send it back to the shop for replacement.

I mailed SMC international and some of the components were unavailable

And they didnt event suggest me an alternate PSU me sugest me a PSU

Are Vaii. Shops will take the responsibility of contacting the Service Center and replacement.
