Need A Basic CPU 8k! Urgent.. Please Help

1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans: Home use. To run applications like MS Office and web surfing.

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans: 8-10k Can't extend beyond this.

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: Nope

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: Windows 7

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: 80GB atleast.

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans: I have a 17' CRT Monitor. Pretty old (1024x768). Running for now.

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: Have a keyboard mouse, speakers.

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: Soon. This week or next

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: Will be done by an assembler.

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans: I live in Visakhapatnam. I'm buying the pc locally. Not willing to buy anything online..

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans: Need the most basic CPU guys. Budget's limited here. Exclude DVD Reader/Writer if necessary, If 2GB RAM is enough, then fine. Will upgrade to 4GB a month or two later. Need your help asap.

for more cost cutting go for G2010 processor.
320GB hdd are available imo, they will be cheaper

Atom is very weak, even for applications like MS word..
You have to consider that modern browsers and day to day softwares can utilise most of the processing capabilities of G2010 easily..

Yes, Intel Pentium Dual Core should be the choice for any kind of Desktop applications, Atom Processors are really very weak. I am waiting for Intel Baytrial based Quad Core Atom Processors to be released in India, planning for a Download and Internet PC using that.

Sempron too isnt capable of morden day to day conputing...
OP stick with Pentium G2010 much better then atom or sempron.

what is the use of 1600mhz with sempron cpu??? that single core cpu is nowhere near to pentium and is many generations old. never ever get those.

if OP is able to get pentium easily then why discussion about atom, sempron , x2 they are far far away(and much older) from g2010

if he cant get pentium then Raspberry Pi is best alternative

^^ Exactly. Sempron, Athlon II X2 and Atoms are simply out of the league here and no point of considering them at all. G2010 or G2020 should be the best choice and only choice for the OP.

atom cant even handle 3 tabs in firfox....that too of tdf...im browsing with atom currently and i only open 3 tabs max(TDF) if i open more lags heavily....

i use a single core atom 1.6GHz with 2 gb ram on windows 7 & usually open 40-50 & sometimes even 100+ tabs in firefox with no problems except low ram warning sometimes.it all depends on how you handle the load.
