Instead of moto e go for Asus Zenfone 4 A450CG which better. As far as Redmi 1S is concerned specifications are just on paper it dosen't perform well. Don't buy Redmi 1S you will regret it later as many people are doing here, fixing issues on a brand new phone.

Zenfone 4 has bad battery. Redmi can be compared with Zenfone 5 but its almost double the price.

For the record redmi has MSM 8228 while Moto g has 8226 they aren't the same soc, I don't have the phone, but the forum members here have positive reviews I say you go with redmi 1s the recent software update seems to have fixed many issues

redmi battery isnt that great either, might as well get a zenfone 4 or 5
Dad's getting 2 days easily on calls and about 2 hours wifi. he once got 8 hours screen on time in a single charge, battery lasted a day that time though. it would last a day easily on medium usage + light gaming.

Zenfone 5 dosen't have ram and crashes issues like Redmi does. So definitely you can't compare Redmi with Zenfone 5.
I have not used Zenfone so can't say about it. I have not faced any app crash on Redmi since update to new ROM released last week. There is no need to debate, both phones are good. Your money, your decision.

Search a bit. for the sake of letting it different they changed the name of the SoC. both of them have the same set of hardware inside that chip just that redmi one is OCed.

exactly what kinds of trouble? and MIUI ROM version which he was on?

Played Dead Trigger for two hours straight last night. Phone reaching 42* C isn't an overheating issue.
same happens while playing on my Optimus G. it even reaches 45* C.

Haven't checked free ram on boot recently but, free ram on idle is ~430 MB now. ROM version 43 (global one, flashed from recovery).

theres a teardown on miui forum ,where it shows 8228, i dont know if its just OCed 8226, but qualcomm lists 8228 and their speclist displays the single core speed as 1.6ghz,just coz it heats up doesnt mean its due to overclocking, there could be a lot of other problems, from what i have read and seen in the forums , the new update has resolved the heat issue (it was due to the cpu governor ,i think ;leading to the cpu being operated at higher frequencies than necessary)
Need Tips for fixing Overheating & battery drain and upgrade ? - Page2 - Redmi 1S - MIUI Official Forum
and third party apps arent exactly correct too, for mi3 cpuz and all showed it having SD801
So if you are into research make sure you are doing it at the right places

RAM and Crashing issues can be easily solved by installing their latest update.Zenphone cost 10k while Redmi cost 6k consider that too.
