my mtnl speed is down

i m(thane) using DSL-NU plan but from last two days at night my speed is decrese from 30 KBps to 17 KBps whats the problem DID ANYBODY FACING SAME ROBLEM

Yes, lots of people, who were earlier synced to 288 Kbps, have now been synced to 256 Kbps. Moreover, alot of unlimited plan users were mistakenly given 2 Mbps speed, which has created a great load on the MTNL infrastructure, and thus the SNR Margins these days are quite bad, resulting in low speeds.

A quick explanation:
KBps = kilo bytes per second
Kbps= kilo bits per second

One byte = eight bits.

Thus: 256Kbps = ( 256/8 )KBps = 32KBps
[which is the minimum data transfer rate for a connection to be called "broadband" ]

Similarly: 56Kbps = 7KBps
[Maximum data transfer rate for dial up.]
