Ms excel question

Hi guys,

I am trying to make a huge list of bar codes. what i want excel to do is when i enter a particular bar code i want the data associated with it to appear beside it automatically.

is that possible? please help me figure this out its urgent.

Could you elaborate what you are trying to do exactly? Also, how are you representing the barcodes in Excel?

I want excel to search each bar code and automatically enter the data pertaining to it from a target file. The bar codes are scanned in and are 8 characters long based on code-128 format.

Is your barcode getting decoded to some text (ascii) characters eventually? Does master sheet hold the master barcode ascii list with related information?
If yes, you can use VLOOKUP function to search for the code and fetch the corresponding data from other sheet or workbook.

i want to run that file on honeywell scanpal handheld it runs windows ce i think and it acepts excel files. now i want to create an excel file that manages the barcode and its data so that the handheld can execute and run the file.
