Mp3 Enc Problem in Vista

i have a problem where i couldnt encode my videos to have mp3 audio.

also no issue in selecting the video codec..but when i select mp3 format from

audio tab i get no formats/profiles listed

problem is same in all the encoding softs...

this scnshot is from virtualdub..right side panel not showing any profiles
