Right off the assembly line
I am thinking of buying a new PC and want some
help from u.
The budget is around 40,000Rs.
The accesories have been decide by me but from the
Processor & Graphics card side i have some questions.
Firstly should i go for a P-4 3.2/3.46Ghz with a 915G
chipset or a AMD 64bit 3Ghz with nForce3/nForce4
motherboard. Also i want to know that if 915G will be
compatible with intel 64bit processor hich will be
coming later.
Secondly i want to buy a graphics card and have a lot
of confusion in nVidia Geforce & ATI Radeon cards in
the 128Mb segment.
I will be very grateful to u if you can help me out

Go for 3 Ghz Intel Processor + 915 mobo [together it will cost u less than 15k]

as for graphic card

Go for ATi cards coz the 9x series beats Geforce in comparison and is a good value for money
Personally i wod recommend these cards

9600PRo 8000/-Rs
9600XT 10500/- Rs

[128/256mb version cards]

Amd 64 Bit TEchnology Of Course.......Cause They Already HAve 64 Bit Compatible Mobos Released (The K8V and others) and Intel Is Yet To Enter The 64 Bit Race.....So If U Care To Wait,Then U Definetly Can :)
As For The 915 Compatiblity With The Future 64 Bit Technology Not so sure Abt That Mate But Most Probably Not
As For The Final Graphic Card Decision......Hmmmm Lets See Now :?
Ahhh What To Think go Get urself a Ati 9800 pro Or a 9600 Pro (Not The SE Series) 8)
These are a Better Choice For The Rest 128 MB Competitors Of GEforce Series :D

Get urself an AMD 64FX processor with an nForce 3 chipset and as far as graphics card is concerned gor for PowerColor 9600 Pro 256 MB which costs about Rs.8000.

See if u go for P4 - 915 combo then for gfx card u have the option of only 6600 GT right now which is 15.5K. This cobination wud well exceed ur budget. see if u can adjust .

FOr Amd -nforce also if u buy th latest u wud not be able to save money for gfx card.

If u r really interested in gaming save more for gfx card. A 2 - 2.4 Ghz proceccor wud just be fine whether amd/intel. Opt dor More RAM 1GB or 512 MB atleast.

Go for nvidia 6 series or Ati 9800 series.

U shud go for AMD platform.

And dont think about ur system getting outdated. There is nothin such thing as latest.

My personal advice: Never go for a crappy mobo from "ASRock". U get that In Zenith PCs.
