Mother Board Died, Suggest new one

Last week mother board in my old computer died. I need suggestions to get it working.

The PC have 1 GB DDR 2 RAM. Core 2 Duo 4400 CPU.

Since RAM is DDR 2 and is only 1 GB, i think i can buy a DDR3 RAM.

If i get a new Mother Board, will i able to use that CPU or i have to buy a CPU too ?

Please suggest a mother board, i don't need much cpu power on this PC as it is for basic browsing and some small document editing.

just spend 2000 more as you are already buying ddr3 ram & mobo & get an intel celeron socket 1155 processor.all this will cost you ~6k.

I'm using this. However, I got it for 2900/- and this is listed for 5500/- here. Please check local stores for price before ordering this online.

Thanks for the suggestion. I think i may go with this as it will be more future proof.

Can you please suggest a Mobo + CPU that cost like 7k max.

even celeron is more than enough for basic needs.basic socket 1155 mobo have one disadvantage of not having usb 3 port but then cheapest socket 1150 processor & mobo will definitely cost more than 7k but then you already have a powerful primary system.

EDIT: I selected G2030 (Rs. 3,505.00/-) as it is cheaper than G2020 (Rs. 3870/-) on amazon. G2030 is better ? I see Corsair Vengeance - 4GB Single Module DDR3 RAM going for Rs. 2,930.00/-, just get it ?

vengeance is better suited for gaming & performance rigs but since there is not much difference in price,get it.G2020 & 2030 are similar but 2030 is slightly faster.4gb ram is better because sooner or later you will feel the need for it even on a basic system with win 7 or win 8.
