Monitor not showing color

My monitor is not showing the RED color.It is only showing the Green & Blue color. I have a Compaq Presario & my PC is three years old.I have updated all the graphics driver & monitor drivers but it has no effect.Please help me

If your Monitor has a "Menu" button, then goto the menu & select, th e "Temperature" & set it to "9300". Or just activate the "DEFAULT" settings.

my monitor does not have a temperature option.i reset my monitor settings to default but the condition of the monitor remain the same.

Try using other's (friend's) monitor on your PC.

This way you can find out which one is the culprit - your Monitor or Gfx. Drivers.

i think my monitor is the culprit bcoz sometimes it shows the RED color & sometimes not & i have updated my gfx drivers they are working fine.

Just another linux lover.
In CRT monitors, there are three cathods (Red, Green, Blue) which emits electrons to produce the color picture. If one of them is not active then that colour will not be present. I think the red cathod in your monitor is not getting the signal probably due to dry-soldering. Consult any serviceman in your area to repair the monitor for you. It is a simple fault and can be repaired easily...
