Right off the assembly line
hi, i am using a dial up connection of BSNL. I recently installed ubuntu 7.10 on my pentium

core2duo. i have an internal modem (SoftV92 Data Fax Modem). i want to coonect to the

internet using my modem. but i am having difficulty scanning the modem using the help files

that come with the installation, as they require to download a certain file. how am i

supposed to download files without internet?!
anyway, is there a way to coonect to the internet?
i am aware of vwdial, but do not know how to use it, where to get it and most importantly

how to install it?

I know this topic has been discussed many times, but i could not find a solution.
i have run the scanmodem utility, but do not have the patience for the reply from the ppl at ubuntu forums
