Mobo of my desktop has given up and need a replacement.
Do we still get any mobos (socket 754) supporting AMD Sempron 2800 processor?
Should have at least 1 IDE port.

Not very keen for full upgrade as this desktop is sparingly used.
Thx

I think a mobo that old would be very difficult to find, you should go for a whole pc upgrade but as you dont wish to -

here you go
GIGABYTE - Motherboard - Socket 754 - GA-K8N51GMF (rev. 1.0)
Gigabyte GA-K8N51GMF (Socket 754 supports AMD Athlon™64 / Sempron Processor)

BMG ftw!!
Use SATA to IDE converter. Motherboards with IDE was dead a long ago.

Hmm.. What cud be the alternative cheap (low end) options if I think of changing CPU, Mobo & RAM, AMD based.

Motherboard -Gigabyte GA-MA78LMT-S2 Rs.2500
RAM - G-skill F3-10600CL9S-2GBNT Rs.700
Total - Rs.5900

I think it could be still cheaper if you would go for an Nvidia chipset motherboard.

However, since your problem lies in the HDD connector, I'd say buy the mobo and a new HDD or a second hand SATA HDD. In any case, even with the complete upgrade, you'll have to buy the HDD cuz no motherboards have IDE ports these days.
