This being my first post i hope you guys will forgive any silly mistakes i make. ![unsure  ](/community/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/unsure.gif)
I have been reserching on the net for the last 2-3 weeks and have found this
forum to give the best sound advice for newbies.
Cheers!!!![number1 :number1: :number1:](/community/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/number1.gif)
1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans: My machine will be exclusively for gaming. I like to play the latest Strategy, RTS, WWII and FPS
games. I would like to game at full HD resolutions at high to highest settings for the
next 2-3 years.
2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans: 60K + 2K
3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: No.
4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: Windows 7
5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: 500GB
6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans: 22" 1920x1280
7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: I will build from scratch
8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: This weekend
9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: No first time
10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans: Kolkata, Preferably local
11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans: My personal research has inclined me towards this config
CPU - i5 3450
GPU - Sapphire HD 7850
Motherboard - Asus P8 B75 M-LE
HDD - 500 GB
RAM - 4GB 1600Mhz
Cabinet - CM Elite 431 P
PSU - Seasonic 520 W
Monitor - Dell st2220l
UPS - APC 600VA
Mouse+Keyboard - Microsoft Wireless
Gamepad - Xbox 360
Total - 62 K
I am however thinking that since it will be exclusively a gaming rig why not upgrade
the GPU to a 7870 and downgrade the CPU to i3 2120. Is it a good tradeoff?
Please help me decide
