Does MS AntiSpyware has backup option? if it has, restore the deleted items.
Also use SFC to restore the system files which may be delted during the Spyware removal.
In Win98, go to Start>Run>sfc, then scan.
For 2000/XP, use sfc/scannow
*support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;310747

If u XP, restore the whole Rgistry backed up by the System Restore facility.

i had deleted the software before i posted here

so no chance of restore

also, wen i do sfc/scannow it is askin me for the windows XP Pro CD

the problem here is that i dont have a cd .... i have a setup on my HDD

so i want to know wat CD does it need.

I had installed XP with SP1 on my system.
Then updated to SP2.

so now it needs original only XP cd /with SP1/ with SP2 ???

plz tel me this then i will burn a cd accordingly.

if it needs with SP2 how can i get such a cd ??

i can get a normal only XP cd and also one with SP1 ... dont know about with SP2.

so let me knw the same

If u have complete backup of setup CD of WinXP in ur system,WHICH IS OF SAME VERSION AS THAT OF XP INSTALLED IN UR SYSTEM,then see this page to run sfc without using CD at all. This requires a small Reg tweak.
It's better u backup the Registry before applying above tweak, do this:-
Go toStart>Run, type Regedit and press Enter.
There in Registry Menu, Select "Export Registry file" option and export the Registry as a File.
Or, while making changes (as mentioned in the above link) to the registry, u simply copy the Default Keys present there and do the changes.
After Registry tweak, u can get the reqiured files from the backup in the system itself.

If u have problems/doubts with Registry editing, then go for the CD from which u installed the Windows previously, to perform sfc.

i dun think he will have an sp2 integrated dump with him ... since he "upgraded" to sp2
anyways u will definitely need an sp2 integrated installation .. be it cd or hdd
i hope u have a licensed copy otherwise this is illegal ;)

anyways have u tried reinstallin the apps ?
reinstal yahoo
and for IE goto
control panel => add remove programs => add remove windows components
deselect IE and continue the installation
do the same thing again instead this time enable IE

First check that do u have any folders by the name CoolWebSearch or WebSearch( or any similar names) in ProgramFiles.if there is, then run this CWShredder.u require VB6 Runtime files for this.
VB6Runtime

If above soln does not work, then try these WinSock fix tools,
WinSockXPFix
LSPFix.
oh man....MS AntiSpyware is really buggy software...
Try WinSockFix...and then say what happened....read reviews of MS AntiSpyware in www.Download.com, a lot of people has similar problem, it created a mess with thier Firewalls, IE, Firefox and u name it..

When u open IE, is the process iexplore.exe is running in background? Check using CTRL-ALT-DEL.
Anyway use this tool called IEFix and say what happened....IEFix registers the core DLLs correctly....
