VLC rules... there is also a standalone version, that doesn't write to the registry.. It plays almost all the formats... I say almost, cos I'm not sure of all the formats out there..

winamp is far better than WMP. the problem wid WMP is it doesnt add all d tracks to library.. my winamp shows dat i ave 15,286 songs but WMP shows just 12,142 songs.(donno wat hapeened to d rest of d songs).
also in winamp one cant open d file locations from 'now playing list'
so 'm searchin 4 d best music playing software.

WMP is quite a resource hog, and more of eye candy than a media player according to me. Ive been a winamp fan for years now, and with the plugins and customizations available, you cant beat it!!

Dear DukeNukem .rm .rmbm are real media files. you cant play it on WMP or or in winamp (without installing pluggins or codecs). you have to download real player
